What is a Children's Museum?
We can sum it up in one word – PLAY.
A children’s museum provides a highly interactive environment filled with age-appropriate experiences specifically designed to encourage a young child’s curiosity, imagination, and creativity. The simple activity of playing empowers youngsters to explore new frontiers, build confidence, and share experiences.

Why does Bucks County need it?
Attention to passing scores on mandatory tests in rigid academic settings now outweighs the time devoted to a child’s free-time to be creative. Realizing this, parents have fueled the surge in the development of children’s museums across the country.
In 2006, over 25 million individuals visited children’s museums – up 388% since 1991 (2006 Association of Children’s Museum’s Survey.)
Over 80 new children’s museums are currently in the planning stages making it the fastest growing cultural institutions in the U.S.
Over 70,000 children between the ages 0 – 8 years live in Bucks County. This figure is expected to grow 27% within the next twenty years.
Local children’s programs are in high demand and overwhelmed by the needs of the community.
Through innovative exhibits and programming, The Bucks County Children’s Museum will engage children and their caregivers in a wide variety of fun, interactive, and educational experiences not currently available in our community.
