Bucks County Children’s Museum Establishes Office Space at Fulton Bank

The Bucks County Children's Museum, expected to open in 2011, recently received a much appreciated donation. Fulton Bank, on North Main Street in Doylestown, has generously donated office space for use by the museum.

"We had some space available, and knew that The Bucks County Children's Museum is something we wanted to support," said Lou Lombardi, Senior Vice President of Fulton Bank, Premier Division and a member of The Bucks County Children's Museum Board of Directors.

"Nothing like The Bucks County Children's Museum exists in our community or anywhere in Bucks County," Lombardi continued, "and a place like this would be so wonderful for kids - a way for them to learn in a hands-on way. I see it as a place that families would want to visit over and over again."

When asked what sparked his interest in the museum's efforts, Lombardi shared that in addition to being a parent of two small children, his company's culture was a motivating factor, as the President of Fulton Bank's Premier division, Joe Feilmeier, is a strong supporter of employee involvement, volunteer efforts, and helping the community.

"Fulton Bank has shown their commitment towards giving back to our community and The Bucks County Children's Museum is grateful for their support of this exciting project, which will benefit young learners across the region," said Kelly Krumenacker, Executive Director. The overall support that Fulton Bank has shown the museum will help them reach their administrative goals as they enter the final phase of site selection.

The Bucks County Children's Museum is committed to creating an innovative hands-on environment where young learners can explore hands-on exhibits that capture the rich cultural heritage of the Bucks County region. Potential interactive exhibits include a watershed play area where splashing combines with learning on how to preserve our waterways, an early American town square where visitors can shop at the general store or visit the post office, a small scale model farm for planting and picking local produce, an art section with activities that reflect the rich art history of the area, and more.

The museum site selection committee is busy searching for a location that is easily accessible from the northern and southern areas of the county as well as for local schoolchildren and visiting tourists. "We're getting closer to finding the right place," says museum spokesperson Eric Hopkins, "but we welcome any additional site ideas that residents of Bucks County might have."
